LOBAMBA – They are not down and out - that is Manzini Wanderers.

The hub giants yesterday convincingly thrashed Malanti Chiefs in a one-sided MTN Premier League game at Somhlolo National Stadium. Their supporters left the stadium with smiles and hope as their team rose from the 4-1 drubbing by Mbabane Highlanders the previous Sunday.

Even then they were unfortunate as they deserved better, having exposed Highlanders who definitely could not dodge a football-playing Vovovo on Saturday afternoon as they lost 1-2.
Injured Captain Lwazi ‘Shana’ Maziya scored a brace before his 46th minute injury. He could have simply been on a hat-trick but his diving header was scored from an offside position.

He opened the scoring in the 17th minute from the spot kick, following a hacking from behind foul on the stylish Mike Dombo in the box.
The second goal had class written all over it. This time, he acutely nodded home to the far bottom corner from an inch-perfect Dombo cross.
The highlight here though was not the goal but show of skill by Dombo, who marched, did step-overs, got to stand on the ball as defender Siyabonga Nkambule was left hapless on the right flank.

There was never a threat from Malanti, who possessed in the middle but had no final touch upfront. It was no surprise when Wanderers who spent less than five minutes in the dressing room came back gunning for more. They nearly got it in first minute of the half but Dombo miscued an Ali Matse cross. They got a host of chances but managed to add a third in the 76th when Ali Matse powered one in from close range.
