MBABANE – Not only did their side win the 2017 edition of the exhilarating SwaziTelecom Charity Cup, but so did their fans.

The top three prizes, which carried a combined E18 000 cash of the Times of Swaziland/ Charity Cup predict- and-win competition were won by Swallows supporters. Sicelo Sukati was the big winner, pocketing E10 500 cash during the prize presentation held at Swaziland Post and Telecommunications Corporation’s (SPTC) Phutfumani Building boardroom yesterday morning.

Sukati won the grand first prize and had another entry picked in the E500 consolation prizes. Sanele Mtsetfwa and Colile Ngwenya were second and third, pocketing E5 000 and E3 000, respectively. Handing out the monies was Times of Swaziland Sports Editor Lwazi Dlamini.

The SwaziTelecom Charity Cup is an initiative by SwaziTelecom, a division of SPTC that generates funds geared towards assisting those who are less privileged in all communities around the country.

The Charity Cup Trust Fund has distributed over E9 million since inception of this initiative 16 years ago.
Each year, the SwaziTelecom Charity Cup has a predict-and-win promotion where soccer fans and the public are given a chance to predict the winners of the SwaziTelecom Charity Cup.

Mbabane Swallows bagged only their third Charity Cup crown in its 16 years rich history despite being the only side not to miss out in any edition. Supporters that predicted the right winner were drawn against each other last week and the main winners were selected.
