MBABANE – Suspended from PLS games? No, but from all fixtures involving Mbabane Swallows!

That is the interpretation of Mbabane Highlanders’ supporter Mduduzi Dlamini, in what he understands to be the PLS correspondence suspending him from football matches. His club was served with correspondence last week to restrain Dlamini from ‘attending football matches where the fixture includes Mbabane Swallows FC’.

“That’s my personal interpretation of the letter as opposed to what the media reported, which the PLS COO also confirmed. It’s not from all games but it’s only Swallows I’m not allowed to watch. I can watch Highlanders at 1.30pm and then leave if Swallows play, next at 3.30pm,” he said.
Dlamini, who also served as Highlanders’ Disciplinary Committee (DC) member, has also relinquished his position to remain a supporter. He tendered a resignation to the club dated September 8 and titled ‘Resignation from Disciplinary Committee’.

Other than challenging the PLS letter, he also wrote a hot letter of demand to Highlanders dated September 11, in response to the allegations of misconduct and unsporting behaviour against him. He says in the letter that he discovered with shock, a letter dated September 9 addressed to the PLS with allegations against him.
“The contents of the aforesaid letter are disputed and are a pure fabrication devoid of the truth. I have not at any moment held a meeting and/or discussion regarding the complaint levelled against myself, regarding the allegations of misconduct and unsporting behaviour,” he wrote.

He also insists there was no meeting between him and Highlanders directors or a resolution thereof from that purported meeting for him not to attend certain football games.
He goes on to request to be furnished with the names of the directors who attended, minutes of the meeting and his response, if any, after being requested not attend games with effect from last Sunday.
“To further substantiate my point, I duly attended the games at Somhlolo National Stadium last Sunday without any qualms whatsoever,” he further wrote.
He adds; “Kindly be informed that I am a born supporter of Mbabane Highlanders and as such, I have developed love for soccer games, thus I cannot easily adhere to informal sanctions banning me from football unless it’s the proper structures put in place for such.”
