HLATHIKULU – With the MTN Premier League officially on break, soccer players often get time to enjoy other activities off the field of play.

It was the same case as well for Mbabane Swallows’ top striker Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa (26), who inadvertently found himself being questioned by the police over an alleged brawl that occurred moments after he had left a popular night spot with a group of friends last Friday.
The bar is situated at Mbelebeleni, in the outskirts of Hlatikhulu.

According to credible reports, the well-liked goal poacher found himself in the midst of a fist fight which erupted around KaMbhebha area just before midnight, where some of his friends who were allegedly on party mode assaulted a reveller after leaving the entertainment spot.
It is understood that the victim subsequently reported the incident at Dumako Police Post on the following day, where the player’s name also popped up during a probe that ensued, resulting in police officers making enquiries with the player in relation to the scuffle.

It was gathered that prior to the punch-up, the soccer star spent a few hours of the night at the popular hang-out spot. Much as anybody else would not like to enjoy leisure time alone, the soccer star was also joined by at least four of his friends from his home area located at Mpini, around Ntshanini.

The buddies reportedly stayed at the entertainment spot until way into the night. Reports are that they eventually hit the road and headed back home after 11pm, leaving in a van. Trouble, however, set in when four of his friends attacked another young man who had hitched a lift in the same vehicle along the way back home.

Witnesses said the fight broke out at the back of the van while the player was seated in front with the driver.
The source of trouble, it was alleged, was that a lad who had boarded the van without his own beer, apparently infuriated the soccer player’s buddies who felt the youngster was out to drink their alcoholic beverages.
It later transpired that the Mbabane Swallows’ striker only intervened by trying to stop the fight after the driver stopped the vehicle.
