MBABANE – Manzini Sundowns and Moneni Pirates have been dressed up for the eagerly-awaited SwaziTelecom Charity Cup play-off on Sunday.

The two sides were presented with their branded soccer jerseys at the Swaziland Posts and Telecommunications Corporation (SPTC) boardroom yesterday ahead of their showdown at King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium in Nhlangano. The game will start at 2pm.

As the tournament has become synonymous with innovations, models instead of soccer players were made to parade the new soccer jerseys. The models were from Pulse and they were identified as Titi Manyatsi, Dalingcebo Dlamini, Sebe Maphosa and Nicole Shabangu.

Dlamini and Shabangu represented Mbabane Swallows and Royal Leopard Under-20s, who will cross swords in the first semi-final at 11am.
SPTC Managing Director, Petros Dlamini, speaking during the event, urged spectators from all walks of life to cascade to the venue as they were guaranteed good football.
“There is no loser in charity.

“We hope one of the teams in the play-off will play in the final,” said Dlamini, who also got to unveil the Nike Mercurial soccer boots he will wear on the day.
National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS) President, Adam ‘Bomber’ Mthethwa, urged Nhlangano folk to grab the rare opportunity of watching their favourite teams closer to home with both hands.
A match between SPTC XI and Pastors at 9am is also set to spice up Sunday’s programme. Gates open at 8am. Entrance fee is only E30.

The winner of the play-off match will join Mbabane Swallows, Royal Leopard and Mbabane Highlanders in the main tournament to be played at Somhlolo National Stadium on August 27.
Football bigwigs that included Premier League of Swaziland (PLS) Chairman, Victor Gamedze, NFAS Vice President, Comfort Shongwe, among others, witnessed yesterday’s festivities.
