MBABANE – The Prime Minister Sibusiso Barnabas Dlamini believes in sheer giving.  The PM said giving in general has positive spin-offs, especially if the giving comes from a pure heart. The head of government lauded the Swaziland Posts and Telecommunications Corporation (SPTC) for their corporate social responsibility through the Telecom Charity Cup. He made these remarks yesterday at the Hospital Hill during the SPTC kit presentation to cabinet members.

The red and white kit was presented to the Prime Minister by SPTC Managing Director Petros Dlamini. Cabinet ministers and Members of Parliament will clash horns with managing directors and CEOs in a curtain raising game for the elite league teams during the Swazi Telecom Charity Cup slated for August 27.

“This is a good initiative by the corporation which does not only focus on soccer but uplift those who are underprivileged. Giving back is encouraged because if one gives, there is no doubt that they will be blessed even more. We do hope that SPTC will rake more millions in profits due to their kind gesture,” Dlamini said.

He further thanked the Ministry of Information Communications and Technology, Ministry of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, FA and Premier League of Swaziland (PLS) for working together for the continued success of the tournament.
“This annual tournament also aligns with our Shukuma initiative, regardless of one’s age, old and young, we must keep exercising which keeps one healthy and fit. We encourage the nation to exercise. We are positive that we will win on the day to prove we do exercise,” the PM said.

Meanwhile, SPTC Managing Director Petros Dlamini, said they were happy to present the kit to the PM.
He further highlighted that they were looking to the big match day and they were hoping the nation would come in their numbers.

Present during the event was DPM Paul Dlamini, Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs David ‘Cruiser’ Ngcamphalala, ICT Minister Dumsani Ndlangamandla, Labour and Social Security Minister Winnie Magagula, SPTC Corporate Communications Manager Nqobile Magagula and PLS COO Pat Vilakati to mention but a few.
