MANZINI – ‘The internal squabbles between fans and management are setting Manzini Wanderers back.’
This was the observation of the club’s endeared coach Nyanga ‘Crooks’ Hlophe.

The coach is preparing the team for tomorrow’s first of its kind Bible Society Cup meeting against neighbours Manzini Sundowns. As a result the coach has urged his players to forget about the many shenanigans at the club and focus on facing the ‘Kappa Boys.’

Recently, the teams’ National Supporters Committee and directors were reportedly at loggerheads over the transition from being a company to an association. The hub giants in the past have been at loggerheads with its National Supporters Committee for numerous reasons and the major issue being the team’s inconsistence performance. It has, however, being reported in our publication that the two parties have smoked a piece pipe.

“You know the unrest is unnecessarily especially to the players because it affects their performance in the field of play. I am not advocating for violence, but whoever has an issue at Wanderers should find common ground than resorting to unruly means. With that said I would urge my players to shun away from those issues and focus on the field,” Hlophe said.

He further said he was ready for Sundowns tomorrow and urged supporters to come in their great numbers to support not only the teams but the Bible Society which was preaching the gospel through football.
“This is a good tournament not only for us but the nation, as its main mandate is to make football and the Bible unite for a benefit of the society. We want to start the season on a high note and beating Sundowns will set us on a right tone for the season ahead,” he said.
