MANZINI – Football lovers could get to watch their yesteryear’s stars in action every weekend if the talks on a proposed league are successful.
TZD Director Zakhele Dlamini confirmed that the teams have approached him on possibly starting a league.

“This tournament did not only help our yesteryear’s stars to reunite and network again, but it has given youngsters a chance to watch their favourite’s soccer legends in action. It is indeed a privilege and an honour to watch the legends battle in action, especially if you only heard about them and never got a chance to watch them in action. Football lovers stand a chance to watch them throughout the season as there are ongoing talks about starting a league,” Dlamini said.
He further pleaded with potential sponsors to join hands with TZD in sponsoring the league.

“This tournament has helped youngsters to take a leaf on how it’s done so imagine if they get to see them playing every weekend and meet them in person and ask for advices. This will enhance the development of football in the country as I believe they have valuable knowledge to share with our current crop of players,” he said. He further thanked all football lovers who came in numbers to support the games. “The finals will be on the weekend of 12/13 August and there would be loser’s finals before the finals take centre stage in the afternoon. We will reveal more details on the fixture in time during the course of the week,” he said. Manzini Wanderers beat Moneni Pirates 5-4 in penalties while Manzini Sundowns brushed aside Green Mamba 2-1 to advance to the finals. The semi-finals games were played at Manzini Club on Sunday.
