SHISELWENI II IN SHUKUMA TOURNAMENT SEMI-FINALS

MBABANE – Shiselweni II Tinkhundla team has sailed to the semi-finals of the Shukuma Tinkhundla tournament after overcoming a resisting Khubutha by 3-2.


The replayed encounter was played on Saturday at the Mavuso Sports Centre. They will now face the other semi-finalists who are Mbabane East (Hhohho), Mpolonjeni (Lubombo) and Mkhiweni Manzini.


The tournament Public Relations Officer (PRO) Dumisani Ntiwane, said the semi-finals will be played this Saturday at a venue still to be confirmed. “The finals of the tournament will curtain raise for the Swazi Telecom Charity Cup play-offs on August 20 at Somhlolo National Stadium,” he said.


The Swazi Telecom Charity Cup playoff pits Moneni Pirates against Manzini Sundowns. The winner of the tie will join the trio of Mbabane Swallows, Mbabane Highlanders and Royal Leopard in the semi-finals of the one day tournament to be played on August 27.

The Tinkhundla Shukuma tournament is sponsored to the tune of E200 000 by the Swaziland National Sport and Recreation Council (SNSRC). The tournament started with all the 55 Tinkhundla Centres around the country and each of the semi-finalists won from the regions being Hhohho, Manzini, Shiselweni and Lubombo.
