MBOMBELA – New boys Matsapha United will have to scratch their heads to finally settle for the five foreign players to be registered for the 2017/18 season.

The Premier League of Swaziland (PLS) rules allow only five or less internationals per team and currently, Matsapha has eight under their belt- needless to say, players of top quality. The edition of the trio of Afraine Bismark and out of contract strikers, Solomon Oladele and Kola Aladeon from Red Lions and Manzini Wanderers, has taken the number of foreigners to eight.

Though Congolese forward Mike Dombo is currently on trial with Ajax Cape Town in South Africa, Vusumuzi Zungu has returned from his SA Amazulu assessment.

Matsapha were guests at the Transversal Cup that also featured Mbombela United, Orlando Pirates and Mozambique’s Costa do Sol on Sunday at Kanyamazane Stadium.

Matsapha received E250 000 for being part of the tournament organised by the Mbombela Municipality as part of weekend long festivities that commemorate the Mandela Day and emerged as runners-up in a one day tournament.
Coach Saul Chaminuka said it was too early to judge or critic the new arrivals as they continued with their new season preparations.
