SWAZI FINISHED OFF
LUSAKA – Zambia yesterday abandoned their plans to boycott the 2018 Kenya African Nations Championship (CHAN) first round return leg and finished off Swaziland to set a date against South Africa.
The players wanted the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) to pay them allowances for matches against Gabon in Libreville last month, the friendly against South Africa in Rustenburg on June 13 and the CHAN first leg against Swaziland in Mbabane last Sunday.
The players were not happy that FAZ officials have kept quiet over the payment of allowances.
But officials assured the players that they would be paid their allowances.
After abandoning their protest, the players went on to bash Swaziland 3-0 to qualify to the last round 7-0 on aggregate.
Zambia crushed the Sihlangu 4-0 in Mbabane.
