Swaziland Posts and Telecommunications Corporation (SPTC) Corporate Communications Manager, Nqobile Magagula, Thembi Mavimbela, and Buyisile Shongwe, who are all Swaziland National Sport and Recreation Council (SNSRC) board members, have been appointed into African Union Sports Council Region V Committees.
This was revealed by SNSRC Chairman, Lawrence ‘Lolo’ Mthethwa on Friday during the presentation of the Country of the Year award given to Swaziland by the region during the Regional Annual Sports Awards in South Africa in May.
Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, David ‘Cruiser’ Ngcamphalala, was a guest during the event which was held at Swaziland Water Services Corporation (SWSC) Head Office in Ezulwini.

Magagula has been appointed to be part of the organising committee while Mavimbela and Shongwe, are in women in sport and disability sport bodies, respectively.
“This is in recognition for the country’s good initiatives in sports administration.
“I’m very honoured,” said Magagula.
Mavimbela, on the other hand, was also appreciative of the appointment, but stressed on the need for women to feature in more sporting activities.
