MBABANE – “What we love about the parkrun is that it’s not about competing but keeping  healthy and fit and it’s a perfect platform to come with your family.”

These were comments by Neale Hertslet after partaking in the 12th edition of the Mbabane Parkrun which was held at Mbabane Club yesterday.
The race saw 134 runners participate in the weekly five kilometres run. This shows an increment of 36 runners as compared to the 98 that were part of the race last week Saturday.
“This is the second time I have participated in this race. It was an awesome experience last week as I discovered that it not only helps one to be healthy and fit but it’s a relaxed platform where one get to network with other runners.

I decided to invite my family today and they told me they will join this race weekly,” Hertslet said.
Meanwhile, Herslet’s daughter Alyssa, said it was her first time but she enjoyed the race.
“My dad pleaded with us to join him in this race and I do not regret partaking here and I will make sure I join him every Saturday. It’s a good platform to keep fit and healthy.

I would like to urge families to join this race because it’s fun and exciting,” Alyssa said. The Ongole family, which has noticeably been consistent in the weekly race, said the park run was the best platform for families to run together.
Jessica Ongole said: “It was weird when my family left me alone at home for the park run so I decided to take the challenge today and I discovered I was missing out big time here. It’s not only fun and challenging but it also helps one keep fit and healthy.”
Joshua Ongule, the youngest in the family, said he wished every day was Saturday.
“It’s exciting to run and mingle with other young people in this race.”
