MBABANE – Banele ‘Pupu’ Sikhondze has returned to provide some silver lining in Sihlangu’s dark cloud after Sunday’s 0-4 loss to Zambia.

The skilful playmaker was reported to have had personal problems that saw him miss out on Sunday’s massacre, but he has resumed training with the team and would be part of the team travelling to Lusaka with the sole intentions of performing a Barcelona to the free flowing ‘Chipolopolo’ side.

National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS), Marketing and Communications Officer Muzi Radebe, confirmed that the player was part of the 21-member squad that trained yesterday.

relaxed

“We can confirm that ‘Pupu’ is back and is looking forward to the game in Zambia. In fact the whole camp is abuzz, with everyone focusing on the game. They are in a relaxed mood and that shows that we can expect a far better performance than the one we saw on Sunday,” he said.
When quizzed on what will now happen to the player, after missing last weekend’s training and game, he said they will wait for the technical bench’s report.

“We prefer not to pre-empt anything now except to say the player is in camp and training very hard like every other player. We know that procedurally, the technical bench will release a report about the whole camp,” he said.

demolition

Sihlangu is chasing a menacing 0-4 deficit against Chipolopolo in the Championship for African Nations (CHAN), following Sunday’s demolition at Somhlolo National Stadium. Under fire Dutch coach Pieter De Jongh has vowed to pull a Barcelona in Lusaka in this week’s second leg.
