MBABANE – Giants Mbabane Swallows are heavily linked with top Zimbabwe’s Dynamos left-back, Ocean ‘Gungwa Behind’ Mushure.

The player is currently starring for the Zimbabwe national side in the ongoing Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) Castle Cup in Rustenburg, South Africa. While the capital city giants are yet to make a formal bid for the 32-year-old, reports suggest that an unnamed Swallows official is already in the neighbouring country to approach the veteran defender.  “Mbabane Swallows are at Sun City trying to lure Ocean ‘Gungwa Behind’ Mushure,” alleged the well-informed source. At Dynamos, Mushure is said to be one of the top earners.

Teams interested in his services, according to the report, have to break the bank. He has one-and-a-half-year remaining on his contract.
South Africa’s premiership outfit, Maritzburg, are also interested in the services of Mushure, who skippers the Zimbabwe COSAFA side.
Between 2014 and 2015, the player was linked with top African sides that included South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns and AS Vita of DR Congo.

Swallows General Manager Sandile Zwane, said the team was yet to recruit international players as focus was on Saturday’s last CAF Confederation Cup clash against South Africa’s Platinum Stars in Rustenburg. “After the CAF campaign, we’ll start our pre-season and then unveil our signings in a media briefing,” said Zwane. If the player eventually completes the move, he will join the swelling list of Zimbabwean players who have donned the famed Swallows red and white jersey. Lanky centre-back, Talent Maposa, who is still at Swallows, is also from Zimbabwe. Other Zimbabwe-born stars who played for  Swallows include midfielder, Stanford Ncube, and shot-stopper, Ephraim Mazarura, to mention but a few.
