LOBAMBA – Having witness Sihlangu ride the crest in the last two years, FA chief Adam ‘Bomber’ Mthethwa says the players a motivated to go step further in the COSAFA Castle Cup.

Mthethwa who was nominated once again as Football Association (FA) president in last Sunday’s General Assembly at Sibane Hotel went down memory lane as he unpacked Sihlangu COSAFA Cup moments from two years ago and last year’s widely celebrated third place finish.

“As a country we have set standards and I know the players are motivated to go step further. Football is grateful to government’s continued help over the years and the results of their investment speak volumes. We hope with the preparations wherein the FA has provided almost everything, the team will perform to the best of ability,” Mthethwa said.

The team was also seen off by Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs David ‘Cruiser’ Ngcamphalala who shared how big Sihlangu brand was currently. Ngcamphalala also threw his weight behind the new-look technical team led by Dutch mentor Pieter de Jongh.

“We understand the pressure that comes with Swallows success in the CAF Confederation Cup but we trust you will represent the country well. As government, we are committed in making sure Sihlangu participates in every international tournament,” he said before inviting the nation to rally behind the boys.
