‘UNDER TREE’ REGISTRATION OPENS JULY 10 - NFAS
EZULWINI – Teams will not be waiting much longer before they can register their players from even under trees as registration window for the new football season gets underway on July 10.
The National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS) announced that online registration window for the new season will open on this day during its General Assembly held at Sibane Hotel last Sunday. It is all about having the right gadget like laptops and cellphones plus internet access then you connect directly with FIFA in Zurich, Switzerland.
NFAS’ CEO Frederick Mngomezulu told delegates during the country’s football mother body’s General Assembly that as reported by this newspaper last week, ‘Registration can now be done under trees or on top of mountains’.
“The first window period for the new online registration, which is called FIFA Connect, opens on July 10 until September 22, 2017. We do expect some activity at Sigwaca House for a while as we’ll be assisting each other here and there about the electronic registration but in the near future there’ll be none such,” he said.
He explained that after the deadline, the final date to apply for the registration of players who qualify to be registered outside the first window period is October 20 and thereafter no registration shall be allowed even if a player qualifies unless on account of legal matters.
“The second registration window period has been moved to a more conducive period of January 8 to February 2 next year, with the deadline for the registration for those who qualify to be registered outside was set at March 3, 2018,” he said reading from the report of NFAS Executive Committee.
