MBABANE – The national team, Sihlangu has received a major boost ahead of the COSAFA Castle Cup in Rustenburg.
Swazi international midfielder Felix Badenhorst has joined the squad in camp after earlier being ruled out of the tournament.

Badenhorst will now have the chance of defending his top goal scorer award as he will be part of the squad to play in the COSAFA Castle Cup when Sihlangu plays its first game on Sunday.

The AS Vita star will not be part of them to play Tunisia’s E.S.T in the CAF Champions League on Sunday, but he will be part of the 20 players to travel to South Africa for the COSAFA Cup quarter-finals math against winner of group B.
Missing the COSAFA Castle Cup are Mbabane Swallows players, Sandile ‘Nkomishi’ Ginindza, Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa, Sanele Mkhweli, Mandla Palma, Tony ‘TT’ Tsabedze, Banele ‘Pupu’ Sikhondze, Njabulo ‘D4D’ Ndlovu and Wonder ‘Samba Jive’ Nhleko who will be playing their CAF Confederations Cup match against Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien.

Badenhorst featured in the Pieter De Jongh side that played a goalless draw against Niger in the 2019 AFCON Qualifiers early this moment. His team-mate at AS Vita Mthunzi ‘Xavi’ Mkhontfo will miss the COSAFA Cup as he would be engaged with the club.
The National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS) Marketing and Communications Officer, Muzi Radebe said they will release the full 20 players before end of the week.
Sihlangu is expected to leave the country on Friday for the game scheduled for 7:30pm under floodlights.

Felix is the all time top goal scorer of the tournament after he netted five goals last year to inspire the team to finish third for the first time under tutelage of Harries ‘Madze’ Bulunga.
Sihlangu coach De Jongh has called up the quartet of Royal Leopard Muzi ‘Mzoro’ Dlamini, Sifiso ‘Sushi’ Nkambule, Moneni Pirates Bongani Ndzimandze and Manzini Wanderers Sifiso Matse.
“It’s a tough week for the country in football as hours before Sihlangu kick the ball, Mbabane Swallows would have played Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien and an international assignment. It is time for the country to come together and give support to both the teams,” he said.
