MBABANE – Mandla Mahewu won the battle of the newcomers in the Dixies Futsal Under-13 League after annihilating Augusta Oil 7-1.

The stakes were high coming into this game with both teams having lost their previous matches as beginners in this league, which was started last year. Mahewu lost 2-5 to Mbabane Swallows in the opening games of the league while rookies Augusta Oil went down 2-3 to Top Score.

The win for the Sisekelo Simelane-led charges lifts them to the third spot with three points after two games. The same cannot be said for Augusta as they remain rooted to the bottom of the log table after a two-game winless streak.
Mahewu made their intentions to win the game known after scoring just six minutes into it.

Midfielder Bonkhe Mamba was the one hitting the target to give his side a deserved lead. Within no time, eight minutes later to be precise, it was 2-0 as striker Mkhorinte Dlamini dribbled past defenders to beat Thembelihle Shongwe between the goalposts.

Mahewu continued their dominance adding two quick goals in a space of five minutes from the restart. Ntsika Vilakati headed a Bonkhe Mamba corner in the 22nd while Mkhorinte completed his brace a few minutes thereafter to make it 4-0.
However, the opponents pulled one back as consolation via the boot of Sinenhlanhla Mnisi in the 28th.

Mlandvo Madlala made it 5-1 in the 31st before they went on to add two more through undoubted man of the match Bonkhe Mamba and Lihawu Mpofu respectively.
