LOBAMBA – The pressure to succeed has not been hidden to new Sihlangu coach Pieter De Jongh, even at government level.

Yesterday, Ministry of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Principal Secretary (PS) Prince Mlayeto, was frank when commissioning Sihlangu to Niger for the 2019 AFCON qualifier, when he said the Dutch mentor was being handed a heavy responsibility of taking the team to greater heights than those reached by his predecessor Harris ‘Madze’ Bulunga.
“Firstly, let me congratulate you for having been appointed to the position that everyone wanted. However, it is not hidden that you have been handed a cumbersome task of raising the bar, especially because you are taking a team that has made a name for itself previously,” he said.

He said in SiSwati De Jongh ubulewe (given a Royal task).
He then urged the team to go out there and do the country proud. “Have a safe trip, bring positive results,” he said.
The FA is sending a 29-member delegation comprising of 20 players, technical bench and officials. FA Executive Committee member Johannes ‘Ace’ Siboza is the leader of the delegation to Niger.
Sihlangu left yesterday and will connect a flight to Ethiopia before arriving in Niamey at noon today, for the match slated for Saturday at 4pm in the west African country time and 5pm in local time.
