MBABANE – Swazi Slojos’ Sifiso Ngcobo has won the Mbabane Parkrun three consecutive times.

This comes after Ngcobo clocked in at 16:45 minutes to finish first in the fifth edition of the five-kilometres race that was held on Saturday at Mbabane Club.

However, despite winning the race this weekend, he failed to break his personal record of 16:43 minutes he set in the previous edition. In his first race, which was staged three weeks ago, Ngcobo outclassed all the runners to finish first in 17:57 minutes. First time runner Sifiso Vilakati made his intention known of challenging Ngcobo by finishing in just over 17 minutes this weekend. Debbie Hawley is also shinning in the ladies category as she also maintained the pole position clocking in at 25:36 minutes.

This, however, reflects that Hawley could not manage to beat her personal best of 25:05 minutes she set last week. Lynsey Martin clocked in at 29:48 minutes to come second in the ladies category with Kate Doyle coming third in 31:04 minutes.

This past weekend 124 athletics enthusiasts participated in the weekly race of whom 32 were first time runners and 39 recorded new personal best times.
