MBABANE – The historic free-for-all entry in an official international match would not have been without His Majesty King Mswati III’s call for Swazi Mobile to venture into football sponsorship soon.

But yet another Total CAF Confederation Cup between Mbabane Swallows and Algeria’s MC Alger is slated for this Friday at 3pm in the tiny Somhlolo National Stadium. Following the free-for-all entry last Tuesday against South Africa’s Platinum Stars, fans will have to keep their fingers crossed for another local company to offer the free entry by purchasing a sizeable number of tickets as the entry fee is up at E60 per head.

Swallows’ General Manager Sandile ‘Beyond 2000’ Zwane confirmed yesterday that, currently, things stood at E60 per head as far as entry fee to the game was concerned.

“As Swazis we must support Swazi Mobile as it’s clearly bringing good things for football and as our games continue, we hope to see more companies coming up with such gestures especially after its unprecedented success last Tuesday as over 10 000 fans painted a perfect picture for local football. This time around, we hope for the same support but at E60 per head,” he appealed.

He made it clear though that fans cannot rule out the possibility of yet another free-for-all as they were still encouraging and hoping local companies can join hands and repeat what Swazi Mobile did last week.
“These games are expensive to host and need a lot of money so we’re still hopeful that perhaps another good Samaritan will come forward timely to make sure the stadium is full on Friday afternoon,” he said.
