MBABANE – It is now a two-horse race in a fired up finish in the mega sponsored E150 000 Corban Mafutseni Promotion.

In a 17-team league that has gone down to the wire, Nkonga Pirates and Moyeni United will clash next Sunday at Nkonga Sports Ground. Both teams are tied at 70 points ahead of the decider, though Moyeni have a pending disciplinary case but Nkonga find themselves in the driving seat with a superior goal difference of 49 compared to Moyeni’s 39.

Nkonga beat Moyeni 2-0 in the corresponding first round fixture and have proved dominant over their nearest challengers over the years, with Moyeni beating them once in a knockout tournament.
Mcolisi Manana, Nkonga’s captain, said in a build-up to the game that they will have to thrive over their dominance.
“All good things start with Nkonga Pirates at Mafutseni,” Mcolisi said.

His Moyeni counterpart Mbuso Dlamini said they were going to win the league and qualify for the Manzini Super League play-offs.
“True, they have a superior goal difference but all we need is to beat them and top the league,” Mbuso said.

Corban Build Hardware Marketing Manager Reggie Kunene said they were happy with how the season has panned out and lauded teams for good behaviour.

Manzini Regional Football Association (MRFA) General Secretary Njabulo Mabuza said Corban’s endorsement was one of the biggest for the region.

“The sponsorship also covers for referees’ kits and many other goodies, more especially for the eventual champions wherein the sponsor will take care of their travelling expenses during the play-offs.
