MBABANE – A good Samaritan has given football supporters an early Christmas gift after purchasing 7 000 tickets for tomorrow’s CAF Confederations Cup match.

Mbabane Swallows take on South Africa’s Platinum Stars who arrived in the country yesterday evening Kick-off time is 3pm tomorrow.
Mbabane Swallows General Manager Sandile ‘Beyond 2000’ Zwane confirmed yesterday that after their request to companies to buy tickets for supporters, someone has responded by buying 7 000 tickets, which will be distributed on match day on a first-come-first-served condition.
The good Samaritan, according to Zwane, has preferred not to be disclosed now while certain logistics were being finalised, but this will be done later on.

“We are glad to announce that a good Samaritan’ has come forward and responded to our request to companies and individuals to buy tickets in bulks to benefit unemployed supporters, who might want to come and watch the game.
“Someone came and pledged to buy 7 000 tickets and we are grateful to the support and we urge supporters to come early for the game,” Zwane said.

He said they would follow the normal security procedures at the gate. The tickets will be distributed at specific checkpoints outside the stadium.
“Gates will open at 11am and supporters will have to go to the tickets sale points and obtain their entry tickets. You will have to go to the gate where you will be required to produce your ticket, and everyone will have to be checked like it is always done,” he said.

Last Wednesday, Swallows announced that they were requesting companies to purchase tickets for the game in bulk to benefit the supporters. They felt that most affording supporters could not make it to the stadium as the kick-off time will be within working hours.
They envisaged that most of the people who will be available to watch the game would be those who are unemployed. The emergence of the good Samaritan will come as good news to the supporters and the club as they are now guaranteed a crowd of about 7 000 for the clash who result will determine how far they can go in the competition.

Zwane assured that they would adhere to all security and marketing protocols demanded by CAF for the match. He said they will tick every box needed to ensure that safety at the stadium prevails.
