MBABANE – He certainly has the knack to win people’s attention whenever he speaks and yesterday morning was no different.

That is Mbabane Swallows’ Board of Directors member and former legislator Robert Magongo, who stunned all inside the tent that hosted the vigil of Mbabane Swallows acting CEO Sibusiso Manana at Mbasheni, Hhohho as he got the podium to briefly speak for the club before the funeral proceeded. “Respect time. Don’t just stand here to waste time by saying a lot of nothing. Anyway, as Swallows we want to thank you all for coming here to support us and his family. We want to declare that all our remaining games will be played for Sibusiso Manana,” he said.

The Swallows faithful were pleased to hear him say this after he had got the house quiet for a few seconds when he spoke of people talking a lot of nothing. His declaration to play the next games for the late Manana, who passed away over a fortnight ago, was met with a loud roar of approval by their loyal fans.

After his speech, the Master of Ceremonies in SBIS’ Radio Presenter Moses ‘Mthetho’ Matsebula led proceedings to the graveside. Also in attendance were the PLS sponsors, who all had representatives in the funeral, lawyers like Sidumo Mdladla, elite and First Division League officials, PLS Board of Governors, the National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS), SuperSport TV Journalist Thomas Kwenaite, and former elite stars among the massive crowd that took its singing, dancing and vuvuzela blowing to the graveside until it was all over at just after 6am.
