MBABANE – National First Division log leaders Matsapha United could be E100 000 richer by the end of the day.

The outfit styled ‘Deep Blue Ocean’ will face Vovovo in a decisive MTN National First Division League showdown at Somhlolo National Stadium tonight. Action gets underway at 6pm.

As Saul Chaminuka’s charges are three points clear at the top, a draw in tonight’s fixture will be enough to earn them the title ahead of closest challengers, Malanti Chiefs. The two sides will meet in the last game, but have already been promoted to the Premier League. They are now in chase of the E100 000 first prize. After winning the E50 000 first round incentive, it will be a chance for the visitors to shoot up their league earnings to E150 000.

In the reverse fixture, Matsapha cruised to a 3-0 win. Team acting CEO, Victor ‘Mavikane’ Dlamini, said the team was ready for the game and the setback in the 0-2 loss to Young Buffaloes in the SwaziBank Cup last Sunday was water under the bridge.

“We understand a point will earn us the title, but we’ll fight for maximum points. The spirit in camp is high,” said Dlamini.  For third-placed Vovovo, on the other hand, they are eager to make amends after narrowly missing out on promotion.

They are still forced to look over their shoulders by Mbabane Citizens, who are just three points behind. Entrance fee is E10.
