MBABANE – Though admitting that the CAF Confederations Cup Group B opponents will be a tough challenge for them, Mbabane Swallows are prepared to swim upstream and not drown.

The capital city giants, as disclosed by this publication last week, would face Tunisian giants and former winners of the competition SC Sfaxien, South Africa’s Platinum Stars and Algerian MC Algier.

The top two teams from the group will face winners and runners up of Group A, where there is FUS Rabat of Morocco, Club Africain of Tunisia, Rivers United of Nigeria and Kampala City of Uganda in the quarter final of the competition.

Swallows start their campaign away to Tunisian giants SC Sfaxien on the weekend of May 12-14. CAF will then release the fixtures for the upcoming games which will be held on May 23, June 2, 20, July 1, 7.  The only silver lining for the Thabo Koki Vilakati side was avoiding hard nut to crack DRC giants, TP Mazembe who are in group D with South Africa’s SuperSport United.

Group C is Zesco United of Zambia, who reached the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League last year, losing to eventual champions Mamelodi Sundowns by 3-2 aggregate.

Others in the group are CRD Libolo of Angola, Al Hilal Obied of Sudan and Smouha of Egypt who eliminated Bidvest Wits in the playoffs stage.
