MBABANE – Glory-seeking Mbabane Swallows will be without right back Sifiso Mabila in their opening game of the CAF Confederations Cup group stages.

The Sihlangu defender was yellow carded in both legs of the play-off match against AC Leopards of Congo-Brazzaville and will sit out the first group match. Four other players, agile shot stopper Sandile ‘Nkomishi’ Ginindza, hard tackler Siphamandla Matsenjwa, workaholic anchorman Papy Kabamba and walking football brain box Banele ‘Pupu’ Sikhondze are on a card each, and risk missing the next match if they get another yellow.

Papy risks missing two matches in the event he is booked again in the next matches according to Article VII (2).
The red and white glamour side will be in Pot 2 for today’s CAF inter-club tournaments draw in Cairo, Egypt.
In Pot 1 will be the four seeded top teams namely Zambia’s Zesco United, DR Congo’s TP Mazembe, Tunisia’s Club Sportif Sfaxien and Morocco’s FUS Rabat.

However, following a gruelling campaign thus far that saw Swallows play six matches, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) will allow the capital city giants to register seven new players before the start of the group stages on May 12.
CAF is yet to write to the National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS) secretariat to confirm the suspension. On the positive, Swallows are expected to welcome back goal-a-game striker Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa in the first group game after serving his one match suspension from an alleged unfounded claim that he broke AC Leopards’ dressing room door away in Congo- Brazzaville.
