BIG BEND – Green Mamba coach Harries ‘Madze’ Bulunga admitted his side did not match Mbabane Highlanders’ determination following Sunday’s defeat at Mayaluka Stadium, a pitch resembling a grazing field.

The ‘Black Bull’ eased their relegation woes with an emphatic 2-1 win over ‘Madze’s charges, which pushed them to position nine in the MTN log standings. Now ‘Madze’ is a worried man and admits a top eight finish is under threat.
“It was always going to be difficult, especially against a side in Highlanders situation.

“They were more determined than us as witnessed in the first half, sticking their foot on the tackles. Our ambitions were to finish in the top four but it is becoming a challenge even to end within the top eight brackets, following this win,” the celebrated former Sihlangu coach said.

His Highlanders counterpart Rodney ‘Stumbo’ Charles, rightly described the points as crucial in his side’s relegation axe fight.
“It was difficult playing away with a big team like Green Mamba but we were able to bag all three crucial points.
“We need not worry about other teams and focus on winning our games, and this result will motivate the players in the remaining two matches,” Charles said.

Highlanders face Young Buffaloes in their remaining two games before the curtain falls on what has been an exhilarating MTN League season.
