LOBAMBA – While admitting Mbabane Swallows’ historic win over AC Leopards was a collective effort, Sihlangu coach Pieter de Jongh has singled out captain Tony ‘TT’ Tsabedze.

“The captain made a big difference with little tactical things,” he said after watching the ambitious capital city giants brush aside Congo Brazzaville’s AC Leopards in a tension-filled game played at the Somhlolo National Stadium.
Swallows confirmed their name in the group stages of the CAF Confederations Cup with an emphatic 4-2 win here yesterday that cancelled out the Congolese team’s 1-0 home win a week ago to win the tie 4-3 on aggregate.
“The first half was tensioned-filled and Swallows were bad defensively. Tactically, Swallows came back more organised in the last half, pilling pressure on the opposition with power play. It was collective work really from the team and I’m happy with the captain’s leadership,” De Jongh said.

‘TT’ scored the first goal for the hosts to ensure a spirited second half after Swallows had conceded two early goals.
Left back Sanele Mkhweli levelled with a header before Congolese anchorman ‘Papy’ nodded his own to put the red and white glamour side in front for the first time in the match.
In the second minute of referee’s four minutes added time, Banele ‘Pupu’ Sikhondze expertly looped over the visitors’ goalkeeper to ignite unforeseen celebrations that threatened to wake the dead from the nearby Mdzimba Mountain.
