BRIAN, VALENTINE MTN MONTHLY MASTERS APRIL’S BEST

MBABANE – “We have been playing together for sometime that is why we won today.”

These were comments shared by Valentine Maziya after been crowned champion of the MTN Monthly Masters with partner Brian Mayisela yesterday at Mbabane Golf Club.
The duo carded home an impressive 51 points after a count back following a good day in the greens during the April installment of the E135 000 MTN sponsored tournament.
“We understand each other, that’s our strength and we were bound to succeed,” added Mayisela.

Following in their footsteps were the Vilakati brothers in Nicholas and Teddy who scored 51 points while in third position it was the Dlamini brothers in Wakhe and Richard on a count back of 47 points.
Also shinning in the novelties awards were Valentine Maziya, who went away with the longest drive award while Mfanafuthi ‘Taribo’ Bhembe emerged the winner of the nearest pin8/15 with Sibusiso Shongwe shining in the nearest pin 8/17 category.Vusi ‘Futhis’ Dlamini won the nearest pin 2/11 award.
Mbabane Golf captain Kenneth Nkambule thanked golfers the 51 golfers who participated in the tournament.

“We are happy with the attendance and the standard of play. The best golfers won today and we want to congratulate them. We also want to plead golfers to attend the Windhoek Qualifiers and Mbabane Business league on Monday and Wednesday respectively,” said Nkambule.
Meanwhile MTN Brand and Sponsorship Manager Fisiwe Vilane who scored 45 points on the day said she was grateful for the massive attendance despite the weather.
“We want to thank all golfers for not only for adding numbers but making the tournament more competitive and in that way the sport of golf is promoted and it develops,” said Vilane.
