MBABANE – Mbabane Swallows skipper Tony ‘TT’ Tsabedze is convinced his team has the verve to outwit highly-rated Congo’s AC Leopards.

Speaking during a farewell function at Sigwaca House in Mbabane yesterday, the veteran winger stressed on the need to remain calm and focused to succeed in tomorrow’s CAF Confederations Cup play-off round first leg showdown at the 2012 champions’ territory.
“We’re determined to go past this hurdle. We’re hungry for the group stages.

“In previous visits to Congo with the national team, we couldn’t win, so we’re in revenge mode,” said the left-footed winger.
Coach Thabo ‘Koki’ Vilakati, also said the team would stand their ground, suggesting that the  new ‘name’ during the CAF campaign should be ‘Swaziland Swallows’ as they were representing the whole country.

“We’re in good shape. We just appeal to the entire nation to rally behind the team,” said the reputable gaffer.
Bidding farewell to the local treble champions was National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS) Vice President Nichodemus ‘Ace’ Mashwama, who urged the side to make history by becoming the first Swazi team to make the group stages.

“We believe in your capabilities following continued dominance in local football. It won’t be easy as there might be mind games at play, but it’s no reason to give up,” Mashwama, who was representing President Adam ‘Bomber’ Mthethwa, who is in South Africa, said.

The team will leave this morning around 7am to connect a 5pm flight in Johannesburg. They are expected in Congo tonight. The game will be played tomorrow at 3:30pm Congo time. It will be 4:30pm in Swaziland. NFAS Head of Youth Development Sonnyboy Mabuza is the head of delegation.
