MBABANE – If your name will not be among three officials the SwaziBank Cup semi-finalists will put on the list for the Somhlolo National Stadium’s Royal Box space, then you have no place there on Sunday.

This follows a meeting the SwaziBank Cup’s Management Committee (MC) had with the four clubs yesterday at the national football offices in Sigwaca House. The clubs are Manzini Wanderers, Matsapha United, Young Buffaloes and Mbabane Highlanders. “It was about sitting arrangements especially in the Royal Box and the behaviour in the technical area and inside the field of play. We had given clubs a circular before about who sits in the Royal Box so we had to remind them again seeing the latest incidents of people shouting expletives and bringing alcohol in the area,” PLS COO and MC Secretary Pat Vilakati confirmed yesterday.

Questioned if they had witnessed any mishaps in the Royal Box and reached the decision based on that, Vilakati responded to the affirmative.
“Shouting in the Royal Box whether in celebration of your team goal or towards match officials or other club officials is strictly not allowed in the Royal Box. We asked the four clubs to furnish us with names of the officials to sit in Royal Box and that should be the general manager, Board of governor at PLS and CEO or secretary,” he said. He said people like patrons, unlisted officials, elders of clubs or founders and marshals will not be allowed to even get through the access point to the Royal Box.

“They want VIP then they can have it just on the seats on the left and right hand sides of the Royal Box,” he emphasised. It is an open secret that of the four clubs involved, Highlanders are the biggest culprits as their patrons, officials and even fans sit in the Royal Box. “The security will be tighter than before as we need to start taking the Royal Box seriously,” Vilakati added.
