LOBAMBA – Shiselweni Regional Administrator (RA) Themba Masuku believe the region is ready to host the fourth edition of the Total National Road Championships.

Masuke made these remarks yesterday at Technical Centre at Lobamba during the press briefing ahead of the cycling race to be held on Sunday at Nhlangano Total-Junction. The race is divided into three categories; 120km, 60km and 30km.

“We are here today to officially declare that Shiselweni is ready for the race and I am blessing the event to be a success. This is the fourth time we are hosting the race as a region and we are happy that we were chosen to host this particular race,” said Masuku.

The former deputy prime minister also highlighted the pivotal role of the tournament noting that it propelled tourism. “This race is a building block towards 2022 as it promotes not only the sport but a healthy lifestyle in our society. The race also benefits those underprivileged as you will recall that water tanks were donated,” he said.

Meanwhile Cycling Association of Swaziland’s Sihlangu Nhlabatsi thanked the RA for having been a good host for the past three years.
“As the event has been blessed by the regional administrator we can say all is set for the championships. We urge all cyclists to keep time. We would like to also announce registration has closed but those interested to partake in the race can only register during the day of the event,” said Nhlabatsi.
