MBABANE – “Our coach Saul ‘Save our Soul’ Chamunika is from AFCON and was away for close to a month but since he came back there’s not one game that was lost.

“So, what can stop him from winning the next one?”
This is the confidence that MTN National First Division League side Matsapha United acting CEO Victor ‘Mavikane’ Dlamini oozed and had the whole SwaziBank auditorium in stitches after his side were drawn against elite Manzini Wanderers in the exhilarating SwaziBank Cup 2017 semi-finals draw yesterday.

With his side up against Wanderers, the other semi-final encounter pits army side Young Buffaloes against Mbabane Highlanders. All four teams declared fireworks with Wanderers and United meeting for the first time and the former also becoming the third elite side to play them since their existence at the start of the season.

The ball will get rolling on Sunday with the match between Wanderers and Matsapha set to kick off at 1:30pm and the elite rivals Buffaloes and Highlanders at 3.30pm at the Somhlolo National Stadium. Games will be preceded by the Under-20 semi-finals between Green Mamba and Royal Leopard as well as 2014 champions Manzini Sundowns against defending champions Young Buffaloes at 9am and 11am respectively.

“There’s a song that goes ‘Uyalalela aphendule’ so what happened here today is just what it is. Others said they speak English where they come from but I will say; Sibloma ekasi, siphethe i-vibe, sizobashiya bedizi (loosely translated to mean they chill in the townships, we got the vibe and we’ll leave Wanderers dizzy). Having said that Mr. MD and Mr. President, Sunday there’ll be razzamatazz at Somhlolo brought by Matsapha United,” said ‘Mavikane’ much to the present people’s amusement.
