MBABANE – In a first-of-its-kind, the Enjabulweni MTB Race will this year be sponsored after four years without a sponsor.
Buy ’n Save Super Spar, as the main sponsor, has contributed a sum of E50 000 toward this annual event.

The launch was done yesterday at the Mbabane Super Spar premises where the Regional Operation Manager Johan Lues said they were pleased to partner with Enjabulweni School for this race.

“We hope this will be an annual event with us on board as title sponsors. We saw it fitting to associate with Enjabulweni and Cycling Association of Swaziland (CAS) because we have noted how fast the sport is developing.

“We are interested in developing the sport at grassroots level, that is why we chose supporting this school-oriented race,” said Lues.
Meanwhile, Enjabulweni Head master Kathy Thompson thanked the sponsor for the kind gesture.

“We want to say Spar has done the right thing in investing in this race because it has been ongoing for the past fours years. The event has grown despite having no sponsorships and we hope it will be much bigger and better. We are also excited that this event will be in the CAS calendar,” said Thompson.

CAS President Sihlangu Nhlabatsi said as an association they welcome such support from companies like Buy ’n Save Spar.
“We hope we see more schools hosting this particular event because we understand that Enjabulweni has been the host for the past four years. We are going to show our support at such initiatives by not charging the hosts licence fee. We hope all schools around the country would register to partake in this race,” said Nhlabatsi.
