MBABANE - Parmalat Swaziland has sponsored HRFA Milky-Max under-13 tournament to the tune of E30 000.

The presentation was done at Sigwaca House yesterday by the company’s key account manager David Litchfield. He said they were committed to developing football at grassroots level and they were going the sponsor the junior league with E30 000. The company has been sponsoring the tournament for the past two years, in 2015 they pumped in E20 000 while last year they contributed E30 000.

“We are happy to partner with the Hhohho Football Association (HRFA) and that is the very reason we have renewed our vows with the association. This means they have been good to us and we are proud to be used as a vessel to develop and promote football,” said Litchfield.
Meanwhile, HRFA chairman Comfort Shongwe thanked Parmalat for the kind gesture.

“We appreciate the sponsorship, more so because we have seen football at grassroots develop in this region. With such sponsorship the children have something positive to do and this has positive spin-outs to both feeder leagues and football at large,” said Shongwe.
FA acting president Nicodemus ‘Ace’ Mashwama lauded the dairy product company for ensuring the development of football at grassroot level.

“For  us as an association, we are concerned about the initial product than the finished product. What is also encouraging about sponsoring junior league is that it is violence free. The children not only learn the basic skills of football but they practice a healthy lifestyle,” said Mashwama.
