MBABANE – “You have been an example over all the years and upcoming players must copy you.”

These were the words of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Minister David ‘Cruiser’ Ngcamphalala to Mbabane Swallows and then Sihlangu captain Tony Tsabedze. Ngcamphalala yesterday morning bade farewell to the country’s sole Total CAF Confederations Cup representatives at Sigwaca House ahead of their away trip to play Tanzania’s Azam tomorrow.

The legislator described the left-footed winger as a good example to other players and felt it was good to praise him while he still lived.
“Knowing Swallows culture, having represented them loyally over the years, it is essential for the team to draft you to the coaching staff when you finally decide to hang up your boots,” Ngcamphalala said to a big round of applause at the packed Sigwaca House Conference Room.

On the Azam game, he said Swallows were known the world over now following their recent exploits on the local front and every team will definitely prepare adequately against them. The capital city giants were recently named in the world’s top 1 000 teams.

“With your experience in such competitions, intimidation and pressure is not in your vocabulary as witnessed in the game against Orapa. Deliver the same results in Tanzania and finish off the job here at home as usual,” he added.

He said he sometimes pitied coach Thabo ‘Koki’ Vilakati when it was time to make substitutions as all the players at his disposal were equally good.
