MBABANE – After two tense derby matches failed to finish between Mankayane Pool Club and Mankayane Eagles, both sides have been penalised for match abandonment.

The two clubs play under the Manzini Regional Pool Association (MRPA) Western Zone and after appearing before a disciplinary committee, they were both found guilty and fined E100 each.

For the first round match, Mankayane had protested as the match was abandoned and the verdict favoured them as they were awarded four points and 25 frames. On top of that, they were fined E100 which they must have paid before the next match this weekend.

In the second round, there was conflict as well and the match had to be abandoned with Eagles protesting this time. The verdict was similar to that of their town rivals as they were awarded the four points and 25 frames and E100 fine.

For Eagles, losing the points will cost them as they are among the top four candidates in the league with a few games left. In another case, Figaredo was also awarded four points and 25 frames after Police College were found guilty of fielding an unregistered player in Central Zone first round clash.
