MBABANE – Before he prepares to face Mbabane Swallows in the SwaziBank Cup, Dennis ‘Yuki’ Masina has revealed he will be hoping for an Orlando Pirates win in today’s eagerly awaited Soweto derby against Kaizer Chiefs.

The Matsapha United midfielder donned the famed black and white of Pirates in an illustrious career that saw him play for teams like Supersport United (South Africa) and KV Machelen (Belgium). Speaking on SBIS Sports Show yesterday morning, Masina told programme host Nathi ‘Mdockies’ Hlophe that he was hoping for a Pirates win to set the tone ahead of his Matsapha showdown with Swallows.

The former Sihlangu captain admits he struggled in his first few games with Matsapha but is confident he is now in the right shape and fitness to do battle tomorrow.

“In football anything can happen and we respect Swallows. They are a good side but we are prepared to advance. Playing against them is a motivation on its own and it serves as the perfect platform for the younger players to market themselves,” he said of Swallows’ recent dominance in the local front.
