MBABANE – In spite of a pending power dispute, Hhohho Regional Pool Association (HRPA) will next go to the polls towards month end.

Interim Task Committee Chairman Sikhatsi Dlamini announced the elections date yesterday.

“Our substantive executive elections will be on April 24 but will be preceded by nominations this month at a venue yet to be confirmed,” he said.
He said the nominations date is March 19 and all zones being Mbabane, Pigg’s Peak and Buhleni were invited to attend. He explained that the venue would be announced in due course but it was between Pigg’s Peak and Mbabane.

“We also encourage clubs to pay affiliation fee in all the zones while we’re also looking at having Ngwenya join us as another zone under Hhohho as we want utilise all the places that have pool tables,” he said.

Affiliation per club is E50 and already 21 have been confirmed official HRPA members. Pigg’s Peak has the most affiliates with the figures standing at 12 while Buhleni has six and three in Mbabane. For those clubs at Buhleni, they can contact Melusi Mthembu at 7671 4912, Pigg’s Peak can call Sihle Mokoena at 7653 9715 and Mbabane gets in touch with Sikhatsi at 7604 5094.

Dlamini explained that while there was a pending matter to be resolved by the Swaziland National Sports and Recreational Council (SNSRC) after outgoing committee went to the High Court disputing their term of office and Billiards Association of Swaziland (BAS) convening of HRPA meeting and putting in place a Task Committee, they had information the matter was as good as over.
However, he asked not to delve much into the matter, only insisting there was progress under Hhohho.
