BEST 5 SHARE E50 000

MBABANE – In a bid to motivate their players as they progress to the next round of the Total CAF Confederations Cup, Mbabane Swallows’ five best performing players last Saturday against Orapa United have got E10 000 each.

The top five shared an amount of E50 000 – an incentive the team’s boss Victor ‘Maradona’ Gamedze had prepared for them even before the match which they won 3-2 and 4-2 on aggregate. A highly-placed source in the club said Gamedze was determined to go further this time around and will do anything to keep the momentum high in the camp.

These players could not be named though for their own protection, according to the club. However, some of the best players on the day were captain and goalscorer Tony ‘TT’ Tsabedze, two other scorers  in Banele ‘Pupu’ Sikhondze and Papy Kabamba, Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa, Sandile ‘Nkomishi’ Ginindza, Siphamandla Ndlangamandla and late substitute Wonder ‘Samba Jive’ Nhleko.

“He gave each player E4 000 in Botswana after the tough 1-0 away win and that is to motivate the players. For the second leg, he gave the best performers on the day E10 000 each which is also a statement of his intentions in this continental tournament,” said the source.

It can be reported with authority that five of the aforementioned players received the incentive from the club after their stellar fight against Orapa. At the rate they are going, the Swallows players are set to benefit more if they keep up their winning form in the CAF tournament against Tanzania’s Azam.

They also stand to make more money from their Ingwenyama Cup consecutive triumph. It is an open secret that the team does it all to motivate its players whenever they have won silverware, no wonder most drive cars and have built their own homes – all thanks to football.
