I CAN REACH FINAL WITH ORAPA BUDGET – ‘KOKI’

MBABANE – A war of words has ensued between Mbabane Swallows coach Thabo ‘Koki’ Vilakati and his Orapa United counterpart Madinda Ndlovu ahead of tomorrow’s CAF Confederations Cup showdown.

Reacting to Ndlovu’s claims that Swallows were not a super team, the Swallows gaffer felt the Orapa United coach was under pressure to deliver following a cash injection of about E1.9 million  (P1.5 million)  from a sponsor styled Debswana towards their CAF campaign in the past week.
“With that kind of money, a team should be fighting for the final.

“I feel like the Orapa United coach is trying to justify the huge budget,” said Vilakati.
“We are not saying Swallows are unbeatable, but we fight for a win in each game. Saturday (tomorrow) will be no different as we will play our normal game,” stressed Vilakati.

Ndlovu was quoted by this publication yesterday saying Swallows’ documented success was overrated.
“They (Swallows) are like any average team. I have played very strong opponents. They are not a super team,” Madinda had said.

Commenting about tomorrow’s CAF Confederations Cup preliminary round second leg encounter set for Somhlolo National Stadium, the reputable mentor said the pressure was on the visitors following the 0-1 loss at home last Saturday.
Even though yesterday’s training session was interrupted by the heavy downpour that swept across the capital city, the experienced mentor said his charges remained focused.

“We are working very hard despite the unfavourable weather conditions,” said Vilakati.
