MBABANE – Wounded Royal Leopard will travel to Kinshasa to try and overturn a first leg 0-1 defeat to AS Vita without industrious midfielder Xolani ‘Papi’ Sikhondze.

The former Manzini Wanderers player missed the first leg on Saturday due to an undisclosed illness. Leopard will leave the country tomorrow for Kinshasa where they are to face AS Vita who beat them 1-0 here at home on Saturday.
Leopard Public Relations Officer (PRO) Frank Hurube said the team will be travelling with the same 16 players that were selected for the first leg played last Saturday at Somhlolo National Stadium.

“He is doubtful for the trip and he did not make it on Saturday during the first leg match. All the players who played on Saturday are injury free and we are confident that they will give the team positive results,” he said.
Hurube said they believe that they can turn-the 1-0 score around.

“We have been to DR Congo before and we are aware of the situation there. We were unlucky on Saturday when we conceded the goal from a corner kick, otherwise we are still a better side,” he said.

The police side coach Sifiso ‘Nuro’ Ntibane said the player was not available to play and the doctors were doing all their best to have him ready for the game but now they were running out of time.

“We have a big squad and we believe in our players. Losing 0-1 here at home still gives us a chance of getting positive results away.  We will be all out to win the second leg match in DR Congo and the players are eager to make the country proud,” he said.
