MBABANE - Former Manzini Sundowns and Sihlangu defender Phumlani Dlamini believes that playing for the national team will come in handy when they face DRC‘s AS Vita on Saturday.

The central defender has been with the national team since 2011 and was with the squad that won a bronze medal last year where they beat DR Congo 1-0 where Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa scored the winner. Dlamini did well against the Congolese side and it will be interesting to see when they face DR Congo team that has some players in the national team.

The lanky defender, when interviewed by the Sports Desk, said playing for the national team had come as a blessing in disguise for him. “Well, this is where I should apply myself, bring that international experience I have gained from Sihlangu to the team.Of course I cannot succeed without the support from my team-mates,” said Dlamini.

He further said his goal was to help his team win trophies and Saturday was a big game, which they have to win at all costs.
“We have equally good players who are also with the national team  and I strongly believe that we can beat them,” said Dlamini.
