MBABANE – Inkhosikati LaMbikiza is expected to be the guest of honour during the launch of Zimbabwe’s Royal Cup tomorrow.

Manzini Wanderers are the country’s representatives in the two-team tournament to be hosted by Zimbabwe’s soccer giants, Highlanders, at Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo on February 25.

A programme copied to this publication revealed that Inkhosikati LaMbikiza, who is also a Wanderers’ Patron, will be the guest during a launch at Mavuso Trade Centre Hall Five.

The festivities are set to start at 5:30pm.
Other notable dignitaries during the event will be that country’s Sports Minister, Makhosini Hlongwane, and Mayor of Bulawayo, His Worship Martin Moyo.

The whole concept of the tournament, according to the programme, will also be publicised on the day.
Meanwhile, the Royal Cup is said to be an initiative that was initially meant to help Zimbabwe Highlanders in their 90th celebrations. The Bulawayo soccer heavyweights have invited Southern African teams to be part of the event.

In the inaugural edition, ‘Bosso’, as Highlanders are widely known, beat Botswana’s Gilsport by 2-0.
Wanderers General Manager Patrick Gamedze could only confirm the invitation of the hub giants but said his hands were tied on the launch pending an official correspondence from the directors.
