MBABANE – Manzini Sundowns have sent striker Mzwandile ‘Navara’ Ndzimandze back to his club, Red Lions.

Ndzimandze, who signed for Sundowns at the start of the season, was given his clearance back to Red Lions after a poor form. He scored only one goal in the past six months and it was against Red Lions when the two sides settled for a 1-all draw in the MTN Premier League.

His last game for the Mlamuli Zwane-led side was on Sunday during the 1-2 loss to Mbabane Swallows in the Ingwenyama Cup semi-finals at Somhlolo National Stadium. He played the second half of the game having been introduced at the start of the second half after the injury of South African defender Paito Dube. Sundowns PRO Muzi Matsenjwa confirmed yesterday that the player was deemed surplus to requirements.

“We were happy to have him in the team but after discussions with the technical team, we reached an agreement to clear him back to Red Lions. He is a good player and we wish him all the best in future,” he said. Ndzimandze was part of the Sundowns team that won the Swazi Telecom Charity Cup in 2013 before he signed for South Africa side, Jomo Cosmos. He returned in 2015 to sign with Red Lions.
