MBABANE – Renowned as the ‘Class of 96’ for their AFCON Cup exploits, South Africa’s Bafana Bafana legends are on their way to the country in April – thanks to Prince Majaha, who is hosting a Sports Charity Cup.

The ardent Mbabane Highlanders supporter is hell-bent on giving back to the nation, in particular the less privileged. The SA Legends, who include renowned stars like former Kaizer Chiefs’ Jabu Pule now Mahlangu, Doctor ‘16V’ Khumalo, ex-Orlando Pirates’ Sibusiso Zuma, Benedict ‘Tso’ Vilakazi and Thabo September are part of the sponsors of this charity project.

“I am all out to help the less fortunate in the country as a way of giving back to the people I call my family as we are one heavenly family.  So with God and my fellow people in the country on my side I will conquer in this project,” said Prince Majaha as he confirmed the charity event, which he said would come in the form of a fun day at Somhlolo National Stadium.

He said besides the football side of things in which the SA Legends feature as well as local legends, there would also be jumping castles for children, athletics, basketball and tennis among the festivities. It was also established that there would be a social teams’ soccer tournament featuring the local legends in which the champions will get the opportunity to play against the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON Cup) 1996 champions.

A source closer to the prince also revealed that the South Africans were part of the project because they have always wanted to give back to Swazis especially because the prince and the nation have always made them feel at home when here. They came into Swaziland 2009 and 2013 courtesy of SwaziBank for their exciting and much-loved knockout tournament, the SwaziBank Cup which is set to be launched soon for this year’s edition.
