MBABANE – Natural belief is that too many cooks spoil the broth but not at faltering Mbabane Highlanders.

The black and white capital city’s fallen giants recently announced a Board of Directors consisting lawyer Zweli Jele as Chairman, Member of Parliament Marwick Khumalo, Senate President Ngomuyayona Gamedze and Lucky Mahlalela.

However, as confirmed during the announcement of the Board that there was room for more directors, Jele told supporters under the Nhlangano Branch last Saturday ahead of their sad exit in the Ingwenyama Cup quarters after losing 2-1 to Tambuti, that five more individuals were coming on board.

The club’s branch official, Thuli, confirmed the meeting as well as being informed that the Board of Directors would be made up of nine directors, meaning more individuals are to come in. “It was a report-back meeting by the directors since the departure of Bheki ‘Rubber’ Simelane last year. They said one of the five new directors would be announced next week when he joins while the four others would be known by month end,” he said.

However, close sources said the director to join next week was one Sabelo Tsabedze as his name was mentioned in passing during the meeting.
“We were also told that they would continue to sign new players until the window period closes or when they feel they have got the right players to boost the current squad. We also learnt that Highlanders was soon to be registered as a company,” she said.

She said as supporters, they were grateful for the meeting because they also deserved to know what was happening since the change of leadership. She said it was a fruitful meeting at the end of the day. No immediate comment could be obtained from Chairman, Jele.
