MBABANE – With schools closed, midweek action continues in the Esibayeni Lodge Under-17 League with the biggest game today being rivals Royal Leopard and Mbabane Swallows at Somhlolo National Stadium.

This will be one of six games scheduled for today with Somhlolo hosting four while Trade Fair Ground will host two pitting hub derby between second-placed Manzini Wanderers and Manzini Sea Birds at 1:30pm.

“There’s no stopping the action. Schools are closed and the games go on as of tomorrow (today) and on Thursday. The league is getting more exciting as we started the second round over the weekend and soon it will be the Under-20 Reserve League which starts on January 28,” confirmed PLS Development and Communications Officer Dumisani ‘DU’ Sibandze yesterday.

Sibandze said all the six games on offer today were heart-warming and not to be missed for any reason. He said it was true that Leopard and Swallows had some unsettled business as the rivalry had spilled to the junior sides as well which grows the standard of competition.
Leopard mauled Midas Mbabane City 11-0 over the weekend while Swallows won 3-0 against Sea Birds.

“Tomorrow, the fixtures are pending games which for certain reasons were not played on their initial dates,” he explained.
He also highlighted the match between leaders and champions Young Buffaloes against mid-table Red Lions. Buffaloes will be looking to win the match to stay in control at the summit where they lead second-placed Wanderers by three points but are a game behind.
